Lesson Description: During these lessons, K-12 students need to design an aircraft that can rescue people and deliver medical supplies to a flooded island. Students will test the flight characteristics of different materials and apply this knowledge to solve the given problem. Students will document and present their optimal aircraft design.
We are in need of Electrical, Industrial, Ocean, Bio, Agricultural, Civil, Environmental, Computer , and Material engineers to facilitate the 12 workshops during 2016-2017 Program year, to facilitate our monthly workshops on Saturdays.

NSBE’s mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.
Description
The Pre-College Initiative (PCI) program is designed to stimulate the interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields, or STEM. The goal is to encourage scholars in grades K-12 to attend college and pursue technical degrees. Our program provides hands-on demonstration projects involving a real world problem to help scholars discover firsthand how engineering and technology relate to the world around them and discover the excitement of academic excellence, leadership, technical development and teamwork. Our 2016-2017 Program will involve aeronautical engineering to design, build and test drones.
Since 2005, East Bay NSBE Jr. Chapter has supported and promoted the teaching of the STEM disciplines, including computer science and other computing disciplines. Through our programs we serve as a champion for inspiring students to take an interest in STEM careers.
