Mission Statement

Youth Art For Healing is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring works of art created by youth into healthcare environments to provide a sense of comfort, inspiration and healing for patients and their loved ones, and healthcare professionals.

Description

Youth Art For Healing is the center of the connection between healthcare organizations interested in displaying youth art, and local schools whose students create works of art for healing that are permanent installations in the healthcare organizations' facilities.

Youth Art For Healing provides opportunities for students to create healing art for people experiencing very difficult times. Students learn about the nature of healing art, the power of art to heal, how to follow guidelines for healing art, the role of the arts in healthcare, and the value of building and strengthening community connections and spirit.

Youth Art For Healing supports students engaged in the process of creating works of art that transform walls and spaces, and promote a positive, healing environment for patients and their loved ones, and for the healthcare staff who care for them. While sharing their talent, time and creativity in the spirit of giving and healing, students become empowered with the knowledge that their art can inspire, comfort and heal, and they can truly make a difference in the lives of others.

Youth Art For Healing builds and strengthens partnerships between healthcare organizations and local schools, while nurturing community spirit and connections between students, art teachers, parents, school staff, patients and their loved ones, healthcare staff, business partners, sponsors and charitable supporters.
