Lots of fun opportunities to volunteer this summer! We are looking for help at:

Summer Reading Performances will be every Tuesday starting June 24 thru July 29. Volunteer responsibilities include "crowd control" (which means making sure the kiddos don't scoot too close to the stage), helping people find a seat, etc; counting attendees; helping people with online sign-ups; etc.

Bilingual Storytime in the Park will be every Thursday at Stella Olsen Park July 3-24. Volunteer responsibilities include, set-up & take down, counting attendees; distribute materials; help with craft.

Music in the Green is every Wednesday at Stella Olsen Park starting July 9-30. Volunteer responsibilities include manning the info/first aid table; answering basic questions; etc.

Movies in the Park is Fridays, August 8, 15, 22 at Stella Olsen Park, starting at dusk. Responsibilities include manning the info/first aide table; answering basic questions; etc

and more!

This is a great way to earn volunteer hours for service clubs! All are fun activities/events.

The mission of the City of Sherwood Volunteer Program is to provide an enjoyable experience for citizens to help their community by assisting City staff; therefore enhancing the delivery of excellent customer service.

Description

The Community Services Department encompasses the Library, Sherwood Center for the Arts, Marjorie Stewart Senior/Community Center, the Sherwood Old Town Field House operations, volunteer services, field and gym scheduling, and the coordinating and planning of various cultural activities and events. The Community Services Department is responsible for planning and implementing recreation and cultural activities, volunteer services, and coordinating events such as Music on the Green and acting as a liaison to the YMCA and other community groups.
