Qualifications:
- Experience working with children.
- Shows initiative.
- Reliable.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work without a lot of supervision.
- Likes children and enjoys engaging them in play and reading activities.
- Energetic.
- Doesn’t get frazzled by chaos.
- Flexible.
- Some Spanish helpful but not mandatory.
Volunteer Job Duties:
- Keeps children safe and happy while in the Children’s Room.
- Ends any dangerous or unbecoming behavior.
- Finds the child’s parent/guardian when necessary.
- Cleans up the room at the end of the shift.

Description
Our staff provides research - based education and other services through workshops and trainings as well as customized services based on community needs and interests. Our program are free or low-cost. Cooperative Extension serves Durham County through several program areas: 4-H Youth Development; Family and Consumer Sciences; Agriculture/Consumer Horticulture; Kids Voting Durham; Welcome Baby Family Resource Center; Community Transportation/ Durham County ACCESS and Community Outreach.
