MY NEIGHBORHOOD MOBILE GROCERY - Pre-Order and Delivery Program
My Neighborhood Mobile Grocery (MNMG) is a nutritionally focused, mobile grocery retail model that provides people with low access to affordable, healthy foods with a new and innovative shopping option within their communities. Offering a limited, competitively priced product mix that balances client choice with nutritional products, educational programming, and free food give-a-ways to incentivize increased consumption of fruits and vegetables, MNMG extends the purchasing power of shoppers.
Thursday Cashiers (2 needed) - Using a computer, volunteers will take payment. Volunteers should be extremely comfortable reading smaller print, using a computer and making change. Indoor setting.
Thursday Greeters (2 needed) -Greet customers as they arrive. Manage the queueing line of shoppers as they wait to pick-up their orders. Outdoor setting.
Thursday Order Fillers (2 needed) - Work on the back of a Gleaners truck to move labeled, bagged orders of dry goods from racks to the end of the truck and fulfill orders of frozen meats and dairy products, also bringing them to the end of the truck.
Thursday Order Checkers (2 needed) - Take orders off the end of the truck, place on a table, bag, and match order to customer pick-up receipts. Outdoor setting under a tent.
Customer Satisfaction Surveyor (1 needed) - Administer Customer Satisfaction Survey to shoppers. Outdoor setting under a tent.
Volunteers age 18 or older please.
Training for all positions will be provided at the start of each shift.

For more than 40 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "feeding hungry people and nourishing our communities." Last year, Gleaners distributed 42 million pounds of emergency food to 499 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties.
Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 97 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.
