PR / Media Relations Subcommittee Lead

ChickTech is looking for an experienced PR professional to lead a small team of volunteers to help leverage nationwide/international media attention for ChickTech’s efforts to increase and retain women in tech and diversify the tech workforce, raise awareness about issues facing women in tech, and emphasize solutions that help create a workforce that is inclusive to all.

The PR lead will be a member of the ChickTech marketing committee.

Subcommittee tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Curating content from ChickTech and its chapters

• Cultivating media relationships

• Writing and distributing press releases

• Identifying media opportunities such as speaking engagements, conference booths, radio spots, tv spots, etc.

• Finding ways to bring ChickTech to a national/international stage as a thought leader

• Recruiting and managing other team members to support the PR subcommittee’s efforts (subcommittee lead)

• Working closely with PR firm partners and ChickTech Nation Blog and Newsletter Subcommittee on content and strategy
  

Desired qualifications:

• Experience crafting effective press releases

• Media relations and strategy

• Volunteer and/or project management experience

Estimated time commitment: 15 - 20 hours a month
