Veteran-to-Veteran Friendly Visitor Volunteer
Veteran-to-Veteran Friendly Visitor Volunteers help to provide Stimulation, Companionship, Support and Honor to our ProMedica/Heartland Hospice Veteran Patients and their families.
Are you a Veteran?
Would you like to offer comfort and companionship to a fellow Veteran with a Terminal Illness?
Have you been thinking about ways in which you can give back?
Are you interested in helping others?
Do you enjoy spending time with a variety of people?
If you answered yes to any of these, the Veteran-to-Veteran Friendly Visitor Volunteer opportunities at ProMedica/Heartland Hospice may be a perfect fit for you!
NO HANDS-ON CARE IS REQUIRED!
Veteran Volunteers offer a special support and camaraderie to fellow veterans that is difficult to match!
Volunteers socialize with patients and can join them in fun activities WITHOUT giving on-hands care.
You can set your own schedule and designate what geographic areas you want to visit.
Our office is located in Irwin, PA and we serve patients throughout all of Westmoreland County,
the eastern part of Allegheny County, and sections of Fayette County.

ProMedica / Heartland Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support for individuals in the final phase of a terminal illness.
Hospice focuses on enhancing the quality of life, rather than length of life. It neither hastens nor postpones death; it affirms life and regards dying as a normal process.
The hospice program stresses human values beyond the physical needs of the patient. Hospice ensures patients spend their final days in dignity and comfort. ProMedica / Heartland Hospice's program utilizes a team approach to meet the physical, social and spiritual needs of our patients and their families.
