TITLE: Front Desk Administrator

DEPARTMENT: Volunteer Services

REPORTS TO: Volunteer Services Manager



The position of the Front Desk Administrator (FDA) is to support Metropolitan Ministries Volunteer Services Department administratively. This position is designed to help the volunteer services department possess and maintain great customer service to all volunteers and staff. The front desk administrator is responsible for providing a positive customer service experience for our all volunteers by welcoming and thanking them for the donation of their time as well as giving information about Metropolitan Ministries volunteer opportunities. Each FDA will be expected to perform any of the following responsibilities.


1.) Greet all clients, volunteers, staff, and visitors with a warm genuine welcome and smile in person and via phone.

2.) Responsible for assisting with checking in individual volunteers on volunteer management software.

3.) Manage a high volume of incoming telephone calls in a timely, polite and professional manner; routes calls to appropriate staff members as needed.

4.) Ensure that all needed documentation from Volunteer Groups is collected and name tags given to each volunteer.

5.) Maintains safe and clean reception area by complying with office procedures, rules, and regulations

6.) Other administrative duties as assigned


Education and Experience:

High School graduate and some experience in a customer service environment who demonstrates clerical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Google documents. A minimum of a three hour every week for a minimum of three months. In addition, each volunteer must attend a one hour volunteer orientation before serving in this capacity.

Skill Requirements:

Must be able to communicate effectively in English; must be dependable; demonstrates maturity and sensitivity to issues of faith, culture, and other sources of diversity; ability to organize work and attend to detail; ability to handle job-related matters in a professional and diplomatic manner. Customer service, effective communication, and a positive, helpful attitude are necessary.

Physical Requirements:

Hearing and speaking ability which allows for effective oral communication of information; physical, emotional and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress.


Demonstrates a passion for the mission and vision of Metropolitan Ministries. Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must pass applicable pre-internship background screening procedures.
