The War Horse is a nonprofit newsroom focused on the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. In addition, we also profile all men and women killed during Post-9/11 conflict. We are looking to add a passionate and dedicated fundraising volunteer to our team that can help raise funds for our Annual Fund.
The fundraiser will work hand-in-hand with our grant writer and publisher. This position requires that you be a self-starter and an out-of-the-box thinker that isn't afraid to propose new ideas and areas for us to increase revenue to increase the number of stories we are able to publish.

Description
The War Horse is a non-profit investigative journalism outlet and member of The Institute for Non-Profit News. Our areas of coverage include the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. In addition, we will also profile all men, women, and military working dogs killed since 9/11.
Journalism is about documenting the human experience. It is the act of listening, observing, recording, and publishing stories about people-and doing so fairly and accurately. The War Horse will be home to the most in-depth documentation of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Stories from individuals who were on the ground, the Generals who led them, and the friends and family who support them from home will provide context for thinking about these wars and the wars that haven't yet been waged.
