As a Companion Volunteer, you would spend time enriching the life of a patient. Companion Volunteers often times become a trusted friend, as they share a movie, play a board game, offer a hand to hold or lend a listening ear. You may give the patient emotional support or offer relief to a family caregiver for a brief period of time by providing help with practical tasks such as writing letters or sharing a cup of tea. Visits are made to work within your schedule and could be in patients’ homes, nursing/rehabilitation facilities or assisted living residences throughout Central MA.
