Looking for a great way to give back to the San Antonio area? Come volunteer with the Catholic Charities Refugee Services! We are looking for long-term volunteers to assist Refugees who are adjusting to new life here in San Antonio. Volunteers will work alongside case managers to ensure that Refugees are able to settle into their new environments comfortably.

Volunteer Duties are listed below:
·Accompanying Caseworkers to welcome Refugees to United States
·Assist housing specialist with apartment set up
·Assist with shopping for household needs(including transportation), and maintaining apartments cleanliness
·Provide cultural orientation help
·Assist ESL teachers, tutor those who need additional help learning English
·Assist staff with afterschool youth tutoring, and parents with school related activities.
·Additional assistance with Refugee program may also be needed.

Volunteers will be needed during normal business hours Monday through Friday for at least a half day a week.
We are looking for long-term volunteers who can be a consistent support for these Refugee families. We're looking forward to hearing from you. Remember "Those who can, do. Those who can do more, volunteer." Become a part of the change!

The mission of Catholic Charities is to provide for the needs of our community through selfless service under the sign of love. We are committed to empowering individuals and families in our community and beyond with the goal of fostering independence. We provide over 25 bilingual and culturally sensitive programs in 19 counties throughout the Archdiocese of San Antonio that empower individuals and families in our community to become self-sufficient.

Within the past few years Catholic Charities has expanded it services to the community by bringing other organizations under its umbrella, including Senior Community Services in 1999, Catholic Counseling & Consultation Center and Guadalupe Home in 2001, San Antonio Birth Doulas in 2005, and Guadalupe Community Center in 2006.
