Olga may not always be able to carry on a conversation, but she would appreciate weekly visits from a kind volunteer who speaks her native language - Russian. Provide sensory stimulation by reading to Olga, taking her out in the garden in her wheelchair, speaking to her, playing music for her. Olga does best with visits in the morning / early afternoon. In-depth training on effective interaction with a person with dementia, and ongoing support, will be provided by JFCS’ Center for Dementia Care staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate, patient person who would like to give back while also learning about dementia at a deeper level.
