ORGANIZATION: Volunteers of America Texas

Healthy habits equals healthy body. We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic health professionals to teach our residents health habits at Alamo Village, an affordable housing program for low-income families. This is an opportunity for individuals or agencies to interact with children as they teach them nutrition and other related health topics that pertain or interest the children.

Alamo Village Health Instructor will provide presentations on nutrition and other health related issues that affect children. The Health Instructor will teach or residents how to make healthier life choices. Volunteering in this capacity will teach our residents how to keep a healthy mind and body. They will host an hour long sessions once a month for at least three months.

While Volunteers of America Texas has a number of needs and opportunities that we would like to address through volunteerism we do not always have the financial resources to purchase the materials and supplies for each project. For some projects we may ask that the volunteer group to provide the materials and supplies required. Volunteer/agency will need to provide any item needed for their presentation.
