Volunteer drivers-Transportation Specialists assist us by delivering blood and blood products to area hospitals. Great customer service skills are important as you may come in contact with donors, hospital staff, Red Cross staff, and other volunteers. Volunteers are required to attend two classes in preparation of becoming a Transportation Specialist. Our drivers need to have a clean driving record and have their license for a minimmum of three years. You'll be driving American Red Cross vehicles (small vans) and need to have the ability to lift up to 45 lbs. You will not be directly handling blood products.
