Volunteers, who are screened and fully trained, visit with their Compeer friend and engage in activities they both enjoy: * taking a walk to seeing a movie * going out for a cup of coffee * shopping * sharing a meal * creative expression * engaging in lively discussion * playing recreational sports * attending music venues & local events. The possibilities are limitless.Compeer also offers group activities and fieldtrips, which are open to all program volunteers and participants.

In the Compeer YouthProgram :our community volunteers engage in supportive one-to-one mentorships with youth who are at-risk (ages 5 to 17). A mentor offers the gift of friendship, personal attention and encouragement, promoting self-confidence, self-reliance and healthy social engagement.

In the Adult Compeer Program: a volunteer has the unique opportunity to provide companionship and social support for an individual receiving mental health services. A Compeer friendship match helps to reduce the isolation and feelings of loneliness experienced by many of our program participants
