ORGANIZATION: Survivor Tails Animal Rescue

STAR

Looking for a savvy dog handler, clear communicator and someone that enjoys phone conversations to call new fosters once approved to go over STAR fostering guidelines and best practices, i.e. crating, decompression, feeding separately, proper gear setup, veterinary issues, contact people, etc. This person will also work on a foster orientation program and ensure that all fosters, new and old, participate in it before resuming foster duties, working with other coordinators to get orientations scheduled, and new orientation hosting sites established. This person would also be responsible for sending around quarterly or semi-annual surveys soliciting foster feedback to help improve communication and foster experience. Lastly, we envision this volunteer to explore and potentially role out additional process improvement programs, like foster sponsors, down the line. Can be done remotely. 5-10 hours per week on average depending on application load.

Mission Statement

Survivor Tails Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 registered, foster based animal rescue that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes abused, neglected, and unwanted cats and dogs. We aim to decrease the euthanasia rates of our high-kill shelter partners by promoting adoption and educating the public on the importance of spaying/neutering and microchipping their pets. Lastly, we strive to maintain a network of dependable foster families, capable veterinarians, and experienced trainers to ensure preparedness of our rescued pets for healthy, fulfilling lives in their adoptive homes.

Description

More than 4 million cats and dogs die each year in animal shelters across the country due to overpopulation issues. That's why we're here. Our mission is twofold: to find these unwanted animals loving homes of their own and to work with communities and like-minded organizations to stop the issue of overpopulation from the top. We don't want to just put a bandage on the issue, we want to prevent animal homelessness from the getgo.
