All Desert Paws rescue dogs and cats deserve the very best foster and forever homes. That is why we perform Reference checks for all applicants before placing an animal in their home.
The ideal candidate for this opportunity is trustworthy and has a very flexible schedule. Reference checks are done by calling applicant's current or previous veterinary office. The call typically only takes a few minutes but needs to be done quickly, preferably within a few hours of receiving the application .
While this opportunity does not involve handling animals the ideal candidate will have some knowledge about proper animal handling, raising pets, etc.

We are a 501c3 organization and work with the animals of 3 Indian tribes (pueblos) in New Mexico (USA) - we have our 'Door2Door' spay/neuter program (running successfully 4 years now), provide emergency medical care, rehabbing, rehoming, education, disease prevention, vaccine schedules, etc
