Our Volunteers are a Gift
Our Volunteers are a GIFT

Gift of Hospice provides services to our patients wherever they call home, whether it be a private residence or a skilled nursing facility, throughout all of San Diego County. Our mission is to give patient and family empowered care, preserving dignity and providing comfort.

We are looking for compassionate and committed individuals to join our team of companionship and respite volunteers. These team members provide support and interaction to our patients and their loved ones. Common visit activities are conversing and reminiscing, playing cards or games, watching TV, reading a book, or whatever activity the patient may enjoy. The family may leave for a respite break while you are there, providing them with a much needed opportunity to recharge.

Volunteers DO NOT provide any hands-on care (i.e. changing an adult brief, dispensing medications, feeding a patient etc.), you only provide companionship and socialization.

NO previous hospice experience is necessary!! We provide a comprehensive 16 hour training as well as ongoing education and support.
