Mentors will work with school staff and other agencies to provide support to children who need help overcoming barriers to learning.
The intention is to bring about sustained change with individual pupils, to improve of their behaviour and attendance, and to share heritage stories related to African American heritage.
Duties:
- To work in partnership with all staff in drawing up and implementing an action plan for each pupil in need of support
- To develop a 1:1 mentoring relationship with pupils receiving support, aimed at achieving the goals defined in their individual action plan

Description
Participate in African American programs; represent AASA at various high-profiled community functions at the request of TCC or other sponsoring organizations; access to leadership workshops and community resources through AASA networking activities; receiving notices and other resources regarding African American scholarship, culture, and community events.
