Community Resource Coordinator
Members create and sustain infrastructure for volunteer engagement across an affiliate’s operations.
Sample of allowable activities: Recruiting, training, supporting and recognizing volunteers, mentors and tutors, delivering volunteer generation plans, creating community partnerships and connections that support scholar development.
Support specifically junior and senior scholars in the pre and post college acceptance processes: college identification, admissions, selection and planning the scholars’ transition into school. Although the primary focus of this role is junior and senior scholars, College Coaches may also plan and coordinate college-preparatory activities for younger scholars as defined in My Road.
Sample of allowable activities: Assisting scholars with the college search, planning college visits, structuring support for completion of college essay, application and preparation for the SAT/ACT, orientation scheduling, housing arrangements and other pre-arrival tasks. Providing resources and experiences that assist scholars in identifying interests and aptitudes relating to discernment of future college majors. The member in this role may serve as a collegian resource and/or collegian connector.
My Road Coach
Assist scholars, staff and community to ensure My Road activities are planned, implemented and reflective activities are completed. Members contributing to this focus area may work with scholars individually but will also plan and deliver My Road related content across the program or to smaller groups of scholars by grade level or activity area.
Sample of allowable activities: Monitoring scholar progress on the My Road platform, delivering My Road content across the program, to small groups or one-to-one such as a job application workshop to accompany the My Road career exploration requirement, arranging a "behind the scenes" tour of an art museum to satisfy a My Road experience requirement, organizing regular reflection writing sessions or My Road activity planning sessions, monitoring scholar work and activities for Brag Board material, creating a book display that helps scholars populate their reading list.
