Helping people feel good, do better, and find solutions

This is your chance to really have an impact on someone's life. You can help them to find a job. Our Vocational Department is looking for volunteers with solid people and computer skills. Volunteers work with staff during group sessions in our computer lab. Volunteers assist clients in finding a job. While most of our clients have no mental health diagnosis, we do work with individuals having other cognitive and learning disabilities. Volunteers must have solid computer skills and be very comfortable with the Internet and MS Office. You will use these skills to help clients apply for jobs online. You will also help them edit cover letters and search for new job openings. No human resources experience is necessary, but we do need you to be patient and supportive. Specifically, if you are available one day a week for 2 hours (either 10am-12pm or 1pm-3pm) this could be a great match! If you can't work these hours, please contact as well...We may be able to work out an agreeable schedule. Kenneth Young Center is a community mental health and senior services provider. Our office is in Elk Grove Village, and we focus our efforts in both Elk Grove and Schaumburg Townships, as well as serving other communities in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago.
