Volunteer Position: Seminar Volunteer
Department: Development/Communications
Time Commitment: Ongoing about once or twice every 3-months
Overview: The purpose of the seminar volunteer is to assist the CCA development staff, our speakers and seminar guests/attendees by running an efficient registration check-in process, passing out materials, providing assistance during Q&A, helping with setup and takedown, and networking with guests/attendees.
Responsibilities:
- Check-in guests as they arrive
- Hand out promotional and education material to guests
- Assist with Q&A
- Network with guests
- Assist speaker(s) with any other tasks that may be needed
- Assist with set-up and cleanup of the seminar
Background/Qualifications:
- Attend brief meet & greet/training orientation and commitment to read materials about organization's mission
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Extrovert and professional demeanor
- Very organized and self-motivated
- Enjoy meeting new people
- Interest in public speaking and PR a plus
- Interest in non-profit work a plus
- Current college student or college alum preferable
- Can provide own transportation to and from the seminar
Please Note:
Our seminars typically take place in the morning during regular business hours. The time frame is ongoing throughtout the year, but the potential candidate will be notified well in advanced of an upcoming seminar. The volunteer must be available for a minimum of 3 hours for each seminar.

Center for Children's Advocacy is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of the legal rights of poor children whose care is dependent on Connecticut's judicial, child welfare, health, mental health, education, and juvenile justice systems.
Through collaborative and outreach programs, CCA serves hundreds of children each year and provides the legal advocacy needed to give these children a chance to lead healthy, productive lives.
