Saturdays, Sundays or evenings desired but weekends preferred.
Tech Tutor Volunteers help people improve their computer skills in One-on-One (1:1) Computer Help sessions and Computer Classes. Orientation, training, and instructional materials provided.
Common topics include computer basics, Microsoft Office Programs, email, web navigation, and social media. Occasionally, topics include creative software, programming; learning resources available.
TechTutors do not perform repairs of any kind, including disk configurations or virus removal. Tech Tutors do not handle patrons' personal computer devices.
Tech Tutor Volunteers are:
- Patient, encouraging, and positive working with diverse library patrons and skill levels
- Able to explain computer information in a simple, clear fashion
- Able to pass a Washington State Patrol Background Check
- Able to commit to four (4) hours a month for five (5) months, at minimum
- 16 years or older
