Looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of military veterans? Become a part of USACares Nevada Chapter. As an 80/20 organization, we provide programs to support combat-injured veterans, career transition, housing, and emergency assistance for post-911 veterans and their families. In addition, we have a robust education program that supports veterans navigating housing, finances, and personal empowerment.
The Nevada Chapter of USA Cares is currently seeking committed Board members to assist in raising awareness and serving our veteran community. We are looking to fill the following roles:
Treasurer
* Financial Officer of the Board
* Report and Record Financial Transactions for the chapter
* Grant Writing experience preferred
Secretary
* Keep track of board meeting minutes
* Coordinate communication amongst board members
* Enforce board bylaws
Director of Social Media
* Oversee updates for Facebook and Twitter.
* Post important dates and events as necessary
* Respond to followers
* Create strategic vision and approach for social media presence
Director of Volunteer Services
* Oversee recruitment, training, and deployment of chapter volunteers (separate from the board)
* Host volunteer service committee meetings regularly
3 General Advisory Board Members
* Assist in the planning and execution of chapter events
* Provide additional capacity and support to the board in specialized capacities

The Board meets one time per month (the first Wednesday of each month at 5pm PST) and most of the positions require about 3-6 hours of volunteer time per month.
Our organization is a national organization 501(c)3 with state chapters that raise awareness for issues surrounding military families. We provide emergency assistance for Servicemembers and their families within 24 hours.

Our goal is to help restore financial stability and self-sufficiency by giving "a hand up." We strive to reach families at the earliest stage of intervention to prevent further financial distress and suffering, especially for the combat injured and their families.
