Africa Agenda is a small non-profit based in Denver that seeks to change the narrative of African news. The organization believes the one-sided pattern of journalistic reporting about Africa needs to be counterbalanced so every gets a full picture about the continent. The organization wants to take its mission further. In 2019 we have several programs planned which include a quarterly bloggers conference, the launch of a critical news analysis website, an Africa summit in Denver and student internships.
We are looking for two strong writers, preferably with grant writing experience, who are passionate about the African continent and its people. We need volunteers with experience in contacting donors and sponsors and making a pitch via email or telephone contact. We need people who are results oriented
Time commitment is expected to be 3 to 4 hours per week. Attendance at least once a month at editorial meetings (Tuesdays, 5-7 p.m., at the Posner Center) would be ideal to assist with planning and updates as a team.
