Africa Agenda wants to take its mission further. In 2018 we have several programs planned which include a quarterly bloggers conference, the launch of a critical news analysis website, an Africa summit in Denver and student internships.
We are seeking aspiring journalists, civil society professionals, and educators with a passion for social media, demonstrated interest and awareness of African affairs and US-Africa relations, love for tracking, monitoring the news for bias and responding with corrective action.
We are looking to post compelling content, and would like to find bloggers who are ideas driven, creative, and ready to roll up their sleeves and write. We are open to your ideas for stories, particularly on content related to energy, business, investment, trade, education, health, civil society/ NGO related initiatives, women’s issues, ICT and how the internet is affecting the development of Africa’s economy.
Writers must show passion for a deeper insights and a flare to stand out. We require a minimum of one story a month for each contributor.
Editorial meetings will take place once a week on Tuesdays from 5-6 pm at Posner Center and volunteers are requested to attend them - either virtually or in person. Meetings will be used for planning, storyboarding, checking-in, getting peer feedback, and developing a team atmosphere.
