Redwood Coast Senior Center needs you

ORGANIZATION: The Volunteer Network of Lake, Mendocino & Sonoma County

Redwood Coast Senior Center is a friendly, warm and active place for seniors to meet, play, read, garden and generally keep active and connected.

We need volunteers to help in the thrift store, in the dining room, in our community garden....there is so much to do and we welcome you to come by and see our center and meet our active seniors.

We also provide Meals on Wheels in our local community and need volunteers to help with that program. Do you have a license to drive and do you know Fort Bragg and the surrounding area? We could use your help. Give us a call or connect here.

Description

Make a Difference in Your Community!

The NCO Volunteer Network serves Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma counties by connecting volunteers with opportunities. The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, day care centers, police departments, hospitals and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.

The Foster Grandparent Program places volunteers 55 and older in schools, to make a direct difference for children in Elementary School. This program also provides a small stipend for low income seniors, who are willing to serve at lease 15 hours per week in local schools.

The Volunteer Network also coordinates the CERT teams for community emergency response and the VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster)
