ORGANIZATION: PARTNERSHIPS FOR TRAUMA RECOVERY

  • 3 people are interested

Partnerships for Trauma Recovery (PTR) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to healing trauma among international survivors of human rights abuses. PTR joins the movement to reduce the global mental health gap by addressing the psychosocial impacts of trauma caused by war, torture, forced displacement, human trafficking, and persecution due to identity and beliefs. At our Bay Area-based Mosaic Healing Center, we draw on synergies among the core components of our model to: (a) provide mental health care for refugees, asylees, asylum seekers and human trafficking survivors, (b) expand clinical capacity to serve these populations, and (c) advocate for policies to prevent trauma and re-traumatization.

With combined expertise gained through over twenty years of providing clinical services to survivors of war trauma, torture and persecution, and in-depth experience implementing international human rights programming, our team integrates the fields of global mental health and human rights to expand the range - and increase the depth - of psychosocial support for this highly vulnerable population.

Description

Partnerships of Trauma Recovery is seeking a volunteer to help with our new website. Currently most of our website is managed through Wordpress, with the homepage managed through Cornerstone. We would like the website to be entirely run through Wordpress in order for the staff to easily conduct updates and maintenance. Additionally, the website assistance volunteer would integrate our Facebook page and Twitter feed onto the homepage of the website, in order for visitors to see our social media activity. The volunteer should have expansive knowledge of Wordpress, Cornerstone and website building more generally. No previous experience with international human rights, refugee trauma, mental health care or humanitarian policy necessary but we would love to work with someone who is also passionate about this work! Depending on the volunteer’s availability, this may be a one - two time opportunity of no more than 5 hours.

If interested, please send a resume and a brief description of your background in website development to tperkins@traumapartners.org . For more information about PTR, please visit our website at www.traumapartners.org.
