Christian Outreach in Action is looking for volunteers to work at our new consignment boutique, Clark & Atherton Mercantile (see details below). Volunteers are needed to work in the front of the store greeting clients and manning the cash register. As well as the back of the store, sorting donations and selecting merchandise to be displayed. We are looking for regular volunteers who can commit to several hours one day a month every month.
Clark & Atherton Mercantile shop will be selling gently used clothing, home goods, jewelry, gifts and unique vintage finds, with all proceeds going towards programs at Christian Outreach in Action.
Christian Outreach in Action (COA), a non-denominational 501(c)3 non-profit in downtown Long Beach, is the largest provider of meals and food for the homeless and low-income community in Long Beach, serving hot meals seven days a week. COA also has a multitude of special programs for seniors, women, and provides meals and celebrations on Thanksgiving and Christmas to families in need.
Clark & Atherton Mercantile is completely volunteer-run. 99% of what we will be selling has been donated by the community, and what isn’t sold in our store will be given back to COA to supply clothing to the homeless and less fortunate every week.
