To assist Food Pantry and Community Gardens programs with harvesting and composting produce. Position will be supervised by Food Pantry Manager and Garden Manager to ensure that produce is properly composted and able to be reused as soil so the garden can continue to produce fresh produce to be distributed in the pantry.
Shifts last an hour and are available Monday-Friday from 9am-2pm depending on availability and capability.
Owning a truck to transport produce 1-2 blocks preferred. Food bag is available for volunteer.

Description
TCAA is Tempe's primary "safety net", providing basic needs and emergency assistance for low income and elderly community members, while encouraging self-reliance. The Community Action Program provides rent / utility assistance, food boxes, career services, cooking on a budget, community garden, homeless prevention, and pre-natal services. The Senior Action Program provides social activities, congregate meals, and home delivered meals.
