Operation Good Cheer 2019 needs volunteers.

Operation Good Cheer is an annual holiday gift giving program for children in foster care. Child and Family Services of Michigan, Inc., sponsors this annual event, and is looking to assist more than 6,000 children across Michigan this year. Volunteers are needed for various stages of the program.

The recipients of gifts through Operation Good Cheer are victims of abuse, abandonment, and neglect and have been removed from homes where their caretakers were unable or unwilling to keep them safe and loved. Many of these children have never received Christmas gifts before. The program aims to do more than provide gifts to the children: it strives to give them a sense of self-importance and belonging. In receiving gifts, the children who have feelings of loss and abandonment due to their previous experiences are reminded that there are people out there who care for and love them. Child and Family Services of Michigan is calling on volunteers to join us in our mission to enhance lives, increase self-esteem, and establish a sense of belonging for the children we serve.
