About The Garden School

Location:

4010 Canton Rd, Marietta, GA 30066, US

Mission Statement

Our mission is to awaken and inspire each student's creative, intellectual, and emotional faculties, recognizing and celebrating their truest self and supporting them in reaching their highest potential.

Description

We honor and preserve the innocence and wonder of childhood in an environment of

rhythm, reverence, and joy. We practice and encourage peaceful parenting and wholesome living.

We seek and embrace diversity in our community. We strive to develop individuals who are able, in

and of themselves, to impart meaning to their lives.

Inspired by Rudolf Steiner's humanitarian world view, The Garden School's educational philosophy

engages the head, the heart, and the hands to provide a broad, balanced, and holistic education

that nurtures the whole human being.

The focus of our world is the development of the whole human being. To further this aim, we strive

to provide a beautiful, cohesive enrichment program that radiates learning, working, and playing.

Creativity and artistic expression are essential in a child's healthy growth and development, and

are fully integrated into our curriculum. We believe that the education of students, teachers and

parents is a lifelong process.

We envision a full K-12 school, inspired by the Waldorf pedagogical traditions and incorporating

the very best elements of other progressive education models including Montessori, Reggio-Emilia,

forest schooling, and the educational theory of philosophers such as Jean-Jaques Rousseau,

Johann Heinrich Pertalozzi, and John Dewey.
