About

Surgery volunteers assist the staff in our veterinary clinic. Duties include prepping surgery packs, cleaning materials, and monitoring recovery of animals. This is a great opportunity for those who want to gain experience in the veterinary field.

Clinic Assistants work with the surgery staff to prepare the clinic for next-day surgeries. Duties include cleaning kennels, stocking supplies, and data entry. They help animals during the recovery process, recovering from anesthesia and keeping all medical areas clean. Sanitizing, laundry.

Clinic volunteers each have a weekly shift, 3-6pm, on a M, Tu, Th or F, and need to commit to a 6-month stint. As new volunteer, you'd need to complete orientation and animal handling classes, plus volunteer in the shelter, before moving to the shelter. Our vet tech also must interview any potential clinic volunteers.

Prior human medical/clinic experience often translates well to an animal clinic setting.
