We are seeking a Coordinator to oversee our Food Pantry. Pantry is open at 8 am on Mondays until about 12 noon. You will also need to be available for a second day for food inventory during the week. A stipend is available for the right person.

We serve about 75 - 100 families each Monday. You will be responsible for registering clients, computer input, and working with other volunteers. We have a unique Shopping Market model whereas our clients get vouchers and shop for the items they need in the Pantry.

Must be computer literate and be able to oversee a team of volunteers. In addition, you will be responsible for inventory, storage and incoming donations. This is a part-time position for the right person with a stipend. We are looking to expand our hours so it could turn into a regular position in the future.

Mission Statement

Our Mission Community Center at Visitation (CCV), guided by the strength and resilience of our neighbors, provides a welcoming community space for Kensington residents to build meaningful connections and access resources to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood. We do this by celebrating and growing the community through regularly scheduled events such as community dinners, holiday festivals and educational workshops. Through the input of our community, we offer quality resources such as healthy food, tutoring, professional development training and recreational activities. Lastly, we strive to collaborate with local partners to streamline access to and avoid duplication of services.

Description

The Community Center at Visitation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in the Kensington neighborhood of Philadelphia. We specialize in working together with our community in providing support and access to educational and social opportunities in addition to wellness programs and resources to promote a mentally and physically healthier population. Together, we will be able to provide the appropriate and necessary tools for our community so that we can collectively learn new skills that will improve our lives and the lives of others around us. In doing so, we believe that we will not only inspire positive change in the community, but that our collaborative efforts will bring a shared sense of respect, belonging, and love to Kensington: our home.
