Shopper/Transportation: The Las Vegas area is in great need for Shoppers/ Transporter. Volunteers are regularly needed to go grocery shopping for those frail elderly seniors who are unable to do so for themselves. Do banking for them, take them to medical appointments, or pick up a prescription for them. Friendly Visitor: Gain a new friend. Begin a one-on-one relationship with JFSA clients who are homebound or in need of companionship. Transportation to otherwise inaccessible cultural events or outings helps reduce a person's isolation to the outside world. Telephone Reassurance: Homebound clients or those in need of socialization look forward to their regular telephone calls from JFSA volunteers. This service insures that an isolated person does not become a neglected person. Food Pantry: Our food bank is open from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Volunteers prepare bags of food for the homeless and for families in need.

Description
JFSA was founded in 1977 to provide essential and affordable social services to the community. JFSA's programs touch the lives of well over 5,000 people in Clark County each year. JFSA is a non-sectarian agency and is funded through private donations, fund-raising programs, and a number of grants. We are a member of the Association of Jewish Family and Children's Agencies (AJFCA) the umbrella association of more than 150 JFSAs in North America.
