Members of our Creative Hands Group provide the comforts of home to our Hospice patients as a part of our holistic care coverage. We are seeking individuals willing to bake and/or knit, crochet, or sew.
Bakers are asked to bake birthday, anniversary or other life milestone cakes for hospice patients who have a special milestone during their time on hospice. Generally we ask for 1 cake per month but may at times have a greater need.
Knitters, Quilter, Crocheters are asked to create prayer shawls and lap blankets for our patients. It is our goal to provide these items to each patient under our care. These loving created talisman bring both physical and emotional warmth to our patients and their families.
Quilters and Crafters: We are working to build a group of individuals to create bereavement bears and pillows from the patient's clothing. Frequently having a physical reminder of a loved one provides emotional support while processing your grief.
All of these opportunities take place in the in the volunteers home. The volunteer is responsible for delivering the completed item to our facility in West Chester, PA.
