We are continually looking for people who are interested in making a difference in their community! Our organization is broken into two sections: Operations and Administrative. The Admnistrative section supports the Operations section during training and search missions. This is a perfect fit for those individuals who would not be able to handle the rigors of being out in the field on a long search mission. Most tasks within the Administrative section are clerical in nature. There are positions in the Administrative section that require a little work, but not quite the rigors of the field, such as delivering cases of water or boxes of food to our teams in the field.
The Operations section is where all of the heavy lifting is done, and where most of the action is at. Positions within this section require the most training, higher level of fitness, and a willingness to be flexible. Often times, we may be requested for a search, and by the time we arrive on scene, the subject has been located. While it is a bummer to drop everything, rush to get dressed, and get to the scene, this is the best possible outcome for everyone involved! Other times, you may be in the field for 6, 8, 10, or 12 hours, taking breaks as needed, clearing an area that has been assigned. Sometimes, after spending 12 hours in the field, the subject is located right NEXT to where your team was! While your team didn't get the find, you DID take part in a successful mission!

The mission of River City Search & Rescue, Inc. is to provide the public safety community of northeast Florida with a compliment of screened, trained, and organized volunteers to supplement their response to lost or missing persons, and assist with reuniting them with their family.

Our organization is comprised of volunteers from all walks of life who have a driving desire to make a difference in their community. River City Search and Rescue, Inc.'s primary response area includes 11 counties in northeast Florida that stretches from Lake City, to Gainesville, to Palm Coast. Our outstanding volunteers are what allow us to be such a successful organization.
