Every Sunday, volunteers coordinate the sign ups of children ages 5-12, with their parents, into this popular program. Each child can join for free and registers on a 'passport' that is then stamped when they come. At the first visit, the child receives a PoP shopping bag, a small bag with $2 worth of PoP tokens, and a club badge. The tokens are for spending on fruits and vegetables and food plants. The kids love doing their own shopping! Each time the child visits he/she receives another $2 to spend.

Description
Yelm Farmers Market is a program of the Yelm Cooperative and provides a venue for local farmers and other small local food and art businesses to sell direct to the consumer. The farmers market offers access to local, nutritious produce, dairy, meats, and much more. We run an information booth for SNAP (formerly food stamps) exchange, conduct a popular children's program, and offer a tasting booth. We are open on Sundays, 10 am to 3 pm, seasonally late May-mid October. We are located on an organic farm, Nisqually Springs Farm, at 17835 SR 507, Yelm, WA.
