Narrator needed for Anti-litter you tube spoof
Hello my name is Mark Bey of a cleaner Ward 7. I have a goal of making the Ward 7 Washington D.C community better and cleaner. With this in mind me and others from the Ward 7 community are working on something called the Ward 7 anti-litter initiative. http://www.acleanerward7.org/home/what-the-a-cleaner-ward-7-initiative-is-all-about/ A part of the Ward 7 clean up initiative is an anti-litter you tube series called " the legend of clean up dude". We are doing this to ad some fun to our efforts to clean up in Wasshington D.C and to help us promote those efforts.
We are fortunate that a Narrator has already contributed to clean up dude series but we are still looking for a few more people to help with some of the Narration which you can see at the following link.
We have developed a you tube series about a fictional character named cleaned up dude who goes around Ward 7 Washington D.C cleaning up. Clean up dudes fictional campaign will loosely follow our real clean up initiative in Washington D.C. http://www.acleanerward7.org/home/the-mysterious-man-the-legend-of-clean-up-dude/
We have written some stories about clean up dude and would like to have them narrated to add to the you tube series.
If you think you would be interested in this unique way of fighting litter in Ward 7 Washington D.C please let me know. All you need to do is record yourself reading our stories/essays about clean up dude and then send me the video and I will post it to go along with the you tube series.
I will post a sample of part of the clean up dude storyline written by a volunteer Hamza Kamran as an example what we need to have narrated.
The Mysterious Man ( The legend of Clean up Dude) By Hamza Kamran
Matt was baffled- Never had there been such an astounding night at Central Park. The place was teeming with people: party owls, shy nerds, sport jocks, government officials and even a guy in a chicken suit was there. The place was very lively indeed-people chatting, large speakers booming, waiters hustling, singers singing, chefs cooking and the man in the chicken suit squawking. Delicious food was being cooked and its tantalizing smell wafted through the air. However, the place was not idyllic for Matt. To him, there were deep concerns.
As a person, Matt had always been inclined to nature. The sight of littering he could not bear. 'If you destroy nature you destroy the world. Consequently, you destroy yourself, your future and that of your loved ones’ and 'A single penny might seem worthless, but multiply it by a million and it becomes much more valuable. Now imagine a single wrapper-alone it does almost nothing, but multiply it by a million and you’re suffocating the world’ were lines he read in an article. They had a profound effect on him. He began picking up litter anywhere in his sight and depositing it in the nearest trashcan. He would then feel that he did make a difference; his soul was uplifted.
Now, the party verging on its end, the place had become a complete dump. The view was unbearable to Matt. He was so worried while the man in the chicken suit was so relaxed. 'WHY is there no justice?!!" With a depressed mood and slumped shoulders, he collected some of the wrappers on the ground, picked-up some streamers and balloon remnants from the ground, dumped them all in a rubbish-bin, and then left.
Morning brought to him disturbing heaviness. Last night’s mess was still fresh in his mind. 'Maybe I should go to the park’-seeing the cleaners arrive and clean the place would make him feel less terrible. He then performed the daily ritual: wash-up and breakfast (a half boiled egg and a piece of toast seared on a butter coated pan, hmm, yum) He then made his way to the park.
On his way, the chirping birds added to the pleasure of the walk. He entered the park and was dazzled. The park was sparkling clean. It was a sight that rejuvenated him yet instilled in him curiosity; 'How did this happen?’, 'is there a cleaning organization or maybe a mythical creature that cleans?’, and even, 'is the guy in the chicken suit responsible?’ He saw cleaners entering the park in doubles and triples. He asked a duo about the situation. He was not surprised to hear that they too were baffled. One of them claimed that he had seen a guy enter the park after everyone had gone. He had to rendezvous with a friend of his. Along the way, he crossed the park. There, he saw a man entering the park at about 1 am.
The developments seemed untrue. 'How could a man do all of this?’ and 'Even if a person did this, why would he not openly declare himself?’ Matt was confused, but he knew that if there was such a person, he would be utterly selfless and open-hearted-a hero-of- sorts. 'Clean-up man or cleaning hero? The mystery cleaner? Clean-up dude? Ah! Clean-up dude, catchy’ he thought with a smile.
