The word anamcara, comes from the Celtic language and means 'soulfriend'. To be an anamcara for someone at the end of life means that you come with no agenda or needs, but only with the wish to serve them as a true friend of the soul. To be a companion volunteer for hospice is not only a gift to the person who is at the end of their life, it is to gift oneself with the privilege of being with the dying.
We provide the training, and you provide the heart of service for this work. If your are interested, and can commit a year of your time a couple of hours a week, contact us for more information. We look forward to hearing from you.
