ORGANIZATION: Alpha Omega Hospice

You know how to do this. Hospice volunteering is simply what you'd do for a friend: emotional and practical support for patients and their families through friendship, caregiver break, one-on-one acoustic music or singing, painting for diversion and memory stimulation, taking notes for a life story, reading, card-playing...giving a pat on the back...just listening...or keeping someone company quietly. You'd be surprised how even the small things, offered in friendship, can improve the lives of our patients and the people who love them. We'll give you a thorough orientation and then we'll support you every step of the way. Adult and teen volunteer opportunities and student service-learning projects. Flexible; an hour or two weekly (full-time students, twice a month), weekdays or weekends.
