These kids want you to volunteer at CBA!
Youth Educational Success is just one of CBA's many programs designed to foster economic self-sufficiency for people across the life cycle. Our development efforts ensure that they have access to afterschool tutoring and enrichment activities.

We're going through an exciting growth phase and are looking for a volunteer to contribute to the organization's growing fundraising infrastructure!

The Fundraising and Development Volunteer will work closely with CBA’s Resource Development Coordinator to research and identify funding opportunities to grow new and existing programming in job training, youth development, health and wellness, financial education, and more. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in grant-writing and fundraising! You will gain invaluable expertise in prospect research and fundraising databases such as Salesforce and Associated Grantmakers of Massachusetts. Perfect for a college student or young professional eager to learn more about nonprofit fundraising!

If interested please contact Nora Frederickson at nora.frederickson@cbacre.org with some details about yourself and why you're interested.

Description

The Coalition for a Better Acre (CBA) is a membership based community development corporation dedicated to resident empowerment and sustainable community revitalization for current and future residents of Lowell. We promote healthy, vibrant neighborhoods by developing resident leaders, affordable housing and economic opportunities, and by responding to community needs through collective action.

Local residents, small business owners and church leaders formed CBA in 1982, in response to a city-sponsored plan to raze and rebuild the Acre's Triangle neighborhood. The plan would have displaced low-income families and replaced affordable housing with market-rate housing and commercial spaces. CBA successfully opposed the city-sponsored plan and went on to launch many other successful organizing campaigns and programs. We strive for Lowell's neighborhoods to be affordable, vibrant and diverse, places of choice where residents are engaged leaders, and where local stakeholders work in partnership to build family and community assets.
