Volunteering is a fun and rewarding way to become part of Mingei International Museum. You can support Museum programs and activities by donating your time and talents, and enjoy enrichment meetings with guest speakers and opportunities to meet other volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and cultural experiences.

Volunteer opportunities at Mingei International Museum include:
- Residents’ Free Tuesday
Volunteers check IDs at the Museum entrance, greet guests and staff the Membership Table on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. - Family Sunday
Volunteers greet and assist guests participating in Family Sunday activities on the 3rd Sunday of each month. - Library, Archives and Digitization
Volunteers support library staff. Hands-on training is provided. Library experience is helpful. - Special Events
Volunteers assist in a variety of ways at Museum exhibition opening receptions and exhibition-related programs. - The Collectors’ Gallery
Volunteers support the sales staff and enhance the Museum store environment. Retail experience is helpful; hands-on training is provided. - Mailing and Office Assistance
Volunteers help with membership mailings and other administrative projects.

Mingei International Museum is dedicated to fostering the understanding and appreciation of art of the people (Mingei) from all eras and cultures of the world. This Art shares a direct simplicity and reflects a joy in making, by hand, useful objects of timeless beauty that satisfying to the human spirit. The Museum collects, conserves and exhibits these arts of daily life - by unknown craftsmen of ancient times, from traditional cultures of past and present and by historical and contemporary designers.
