Our group knits, looms and crochets beanie caps and scarves to donate to East Bay Stand Down, a veterans support group that gathers veterans in need for a 4 day "hand up" opportunity with on site medical, dental, legal and other support. East Bay Stand Down takes place in Pleasanton and will be meeting in September of 2016. Our goal is 450 sets of caps and scarves to hand out to the men and women who have served our country. As of May, 2016 we have 306 sets ready to deliver with a only 144 sets to go. You are welcome to join us at our monthly get togethers scheduled for May 31st, June 28th, July 26th and August 30th at 7:00pm. We sit and chat while creating, plus bring in our completed projects. Use your own supplies or there may be donations of yarn you can take with you to create your projects. If you can not make our get togethers you can contact us for delivery or pick up opportunities. We ask that the scarves be at least 5 inches wide and 74 inches long. We are looking for more masculine colors as the ratio of veterans is about 400 men and 50 women.
