ORGANIZATION: Medical City Hospice and Family Care

  • 65 people are interested

Do you have a great desire to volunteer for hospice but don't know how? Maybe you dislike driving or prefer to not be a companion. Maybe you have a gift or find joy in baking or doing crafts or writing cards to people. If so, we need you! Volunteer at home or come to the office (no kitchen, unfortunately) to create works of art, edible treats, or practicial gifts such as fidget blankets for dementia patients or microwave heating pads stuffed with rice. Each month we aim to provide our patients with a treat to bring them joy. Be a part of the fun! You will receive free orientation and training which is set to fit to your schedule.

Mission Statement

Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life. In pursuit of our mission, we believe the following value statements are essential and timeless: •We recognize and affirm the unique and intrinsic worth of each individual. •We treat all those we serve with compassion and kindness. •We trust our colleagues as valuable members of our healthcare team and pledge to treat one another with loyalty, respect, and dignity. •We act with absolute honesty.

Description

Life is much more than physical health; it is also the dignity of the human spirit. When physical health begins to fail, the nurturing of the spirit becomes increasingly important. Hospice care is a service that aids the transition between living and dying by providing respect, care, comfort, and support to patients and families.

Medical City Hospice and Family Care volunteers provide important support to the care of our patients and families.

HCA Healthcare is in 20 states and the United Kingdom and is one of the nation's leading providers of healthcare services. Our affiliate serving the DFW area is Medical City Hospice and Family Care.
