A little time, a BIG impact! ElderNet of Lower Merion and Narberth is seeking volunteers to make regular visits (or calls during the pandemic) with an elderly neighbor. These visits can be spent chatting, going for a short walk, helping pay bills or manage mail, taking a drive, playing a card game...anything that would interest both volunteer and client. Of course, during the pandemic, many "visits" have become friendly phone calls, which still go a long way toward alleviating loneliness and isolation.
The visits/calls can be arranged weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, depending on your schedule. In-person visits usually last about 1 to 2 hours, while phone calls are usually shorter but more frequent. These visits are meant to reduce loneliness and isolation for the people we serve, but they can do a lot more than that! By increasing community connection for the seniors we interact with, the whole community benefits.
Please contact Brandon Trombetta at 610-525-0706 or btrombettal@eldernetonline.org with any questions about our programs.

Description
ElderNet provides volunteer-based services such as door to door escort driving to medical appointments, grocery stores, banks, pharmacies and other essential errands. We also provide friendly visits or calls, odd jobs, small home repairs, and help with managing checkbooks and bills. These volunteer services are free and available to older and younger disabled adults living in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough in Montgomery County, PA. Income guidelines also apply for volunteer-based services. ElderNet also operates a food pantry and provides emergency financial assistance to qualifying Lower Merion Township residents (income and residency restrictions apply). Our information and referral services are open to anyone. We also have new and evolving services that further contribute to helping older and disabled younger adults remain living in their own homes. We collaborate with other agencies and have a very active advocacy committee.
