The Division for the Visually Impaired Education Staff needs volunteers to help in our Instuctional Resource Material Center. The Instructional Resource Material Center is responsible for producing Braille, Large Print and PDF materials for the entire State of Delaware. These materials are then given to our visually impaired students in the public school systems. With a limited staff, we rely on help from volunteers to insure these materials are produced and given to the students who need them most.
If you would like to learn new skills, this is the opportunity for you. Onsite training will be provided and volunteers are encouraged to work at their own pace. Braille experience is not necessary.
We also provide incentives for volunteering such as school/internship credit, recommedation letters, and networking opportunities. This is a great opportunity for people of all age ranges.
Our office is located off route 13 within the city limits of Wilmington, De. Parking is provided. Please contact Richard Huber, Volunteer Services, at (302) 577-2083 or via email at Richard.Huber@state.de.us for further information.
