Chaparral House is a Skilled Nursing Facility in Berkeley dedicated to providing excellent person-centered care to our elder community.
We are seeking a volunteer as a back up to lead our weekly baking activity with a small group of our elders. We keep it simple--usually muffins or cookies. We prefer someone who likes to bake from scratch rather than box mixes or store bought pastry shells.
We can be somewhat flexible about the time of this activity according to your schedule, but prefer scheduling it mid to late afternoon on a weekday.
Active participation by the elders can vary--but they enjoy the activity even if they're just watching and visiting during it (and sampling the goods when they are done!).
A great volunteer opportunity for someone who enjoys baking and elders!
