Sacramento ESL Program (SESL) provides English classes to speakers of other languages (ESL=English as a Second Language). We have two Spanish-speaking students who arae virtually illiterate even in their native language (Spanish). It is very difficult to teach this kind of student because he is already so far behind.
SESL is looking for someone to teach them how to print in lower and upper case, how to write and manage numbers, basic vocabulary, the verb BE, etc. This help will be needed on an ongoing basis. This opportunity is Monday through Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30, but if all you can do is one of those days each week, you would be welcome! SESL will provide the materials needed. If you have experience tutoring adults, we need YOU!! Being bilingual would be a plus!
Please email us your name, email, phone number(s), and detailed information about your experience in this area and why you would like to help students like this!
