Mission Statement

1. To provide a range of palliative health care services which responds to the needs of the people of the region; 2. To promote comfort and freedom from pain; 3. To work with the dying of the patient and family to make individual choices affecting present and future health needs; 4. To identify those physical, emotional, spiritual, financial, domestic or social problems which directly or indirectly affect the family unit; 5. To prepare the family unit and assist them physically, mentally and spiritually to recognize death as a normal part of life; and 6. To provide bereavement follow-up care to help alleviate emotional suffering for one year after death.

Description

AIM Hospice exists to provide individualized help to the terminally ill, regardless of race, color, creed, national origin or ability to pay, so that they may live out the last months of life as actively and comfortably as possible. We believe that we, together with thte patient and caregiver, form the team which assists the patient to live fully and actively and to die comfortably and with dignity in his or her chosen environment. We believe that death with dignity completes the cycle of life. We will act as advocates for our patients so they can attain the highest quality of health and comfort which affirms life and recognizes dying as a normal part of life.
